Correct. If you’re an internal consultant or otherwise have specific instructions to speak to the manager, that’s fine. But you want to focus your interviews on the actual individual users of your product. If possible, speak to them where they do their work so that you get a more realistic idea of who they are and how they work on a day-to-day basis.
